Internal conflict is brewing among Saujana Puchong residents movement Signature Campaign Network (SCT) as the current committee found discrepancies in its financial accounts.

The NGO, which was formed to campaign against a cemetery project at the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve, has to figure out the transactions of its public funds after legal firm T.J Chin & Co claimed that they have received more than the amount that was recorded to have been channeled for legal fees.

According to SCT secretary Ng Chee Kwang, the first term committee members had in 2006 paid T.J Chin & Co RM55,000 for legal service fees to bring the Selangor state government to court; but the firm claimed to have received RM65,000.

“If the required legal fees was just RM55,000, why the firm got an extra RM10,000? How come there is a discrepancy?” he asked.

The current committee, which is the third term committee, is now demanding the first term committee members to step forward and clarify to the residents regarding the funds.

“The first term chairman refused to help us sorting out the discrepancy. This had raised an issue of public accountability,” Ng said.

“Neither of it can make up RM80,000″

Ng added that during the SCT’s establishment in 2006, everyone was told that an amount of RM80,000 was raised through public donations as for operational and legal fees.

However, when the current members took over the leadership on September 2009, they found only RM27.82 was left in SCT’s bank account.

Through a series of records tracing, they later found out that RM15,000 was earmarked as a fixed deposit while RM12,500 was paid to another appointed legal firm in 2007.

“But the point is, neither RM55,000 nor RM65,000 plus the RM27,500 above could make up a RM80,000. So how much funds did we really raise in the first place?” Ng added.

The committee had issued three letters to T.J Chin & Co to request a breakdown of expenses on the purported amount ofRM65,000, to which the legal firm has yet to respond.

Hence, the members have appointed another lawyer at their own expenses to pursuit the request.

Lau: human greed most likely the reason

Committee member Lau Seng You expressed that human greed is most likely the reason behind these discrepancies.

He however promised that if SCT can get back its entitled funds, it will be donated to culture and education-based organizations.

“(The fund) came from the public somehow,” he said.

SCT dropped court case against Selangor government

Meanwhile, SCT is planning to dissolve its body by June next year as their six-year struggle had finally reached a happy ending.

Selangor exco Teresa Kok on July announced that the cemetery project on the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve plot was shelved. Instead, the plot near to Saujana Puchong was officially gazetted as part of the forest reserve.

Following this, SCT had officially reached an out-of-court settlement with the Selangor government last Friday.

“We feel happy because after six years of struggle, all fellow residents can now enjoy peace of mind and start focusing on their future plans,” Lau said.

The Main Topics for the Press Conference yesterday (26 September 2010 at 10 am in AS-Subuh Restaurant) are:

2. The Issue of Requesting for the breakdown of expenditure by our first lawyer (T. J. Chin & Co - appointted by the 1st Term SCT committee). We have changed our lawyer to William Leong & Co on 4 Dec 2007. Besides that, we also invite the 1st and 2nd term SCT Committee to come forward to provide accurate reports to the residents.

(For your info, SCT Committee is now in her 3rd Term (26 June 2009 - 25 June 2011).

The 1st Term SCT Committee is from 26 June 2005-25 June 2007 and the 2nd Term Committee is from 26 June 2007-25 June 2009)

3. We will also inform that once or our documents are ready, SCT 3rd Term Committee will announce and distribute our final report (Financial and Non-Financial). We also take this opportunity to openly invite SCT 1st and 2nd Term to come forward and provide accurate reports to the residents.

4. Since our mission is already completed, once item (3) is completed, SCT will be dissolved.

First of all, SCT wrote to T. J. Chin & Co on 6 September 2009 and then 12 October 2009 to request for the breakdown of legal expenses. In both letters, we do not receive any reply from T. J. Chin & Co.

Because of that, 1 June 2010, four SCT committee members (Mr. Koh Kok Siong, Mr. Lau Seng You, Mr. Lee Wai Hong and Mr. Ng Chee Kwong) appointed Norma Goh & Co to write to T. J. Chin & Co for the same matter and we still do not get the breakdown of legal expenses.

Then, on 7 July 2010, SCT 3rd Term Committee successfully changed the applicant name of our Judicial Review from SCT 1st Term Chairman to Mr. Lee Wai Hong (SCT 3rd Term Chairman - current) and thus obtain the Locus Standi (Legal Position) to pursue this case.

Because of that, SCT 3rd Term Committee appointted Norma Goh and Co to officially pursue this matter with T. J. Chin & Co using Mr. Lee Wai Hong Locus Standi on 20 August 2010. (The expenses for Appointment of Norma Goh & Co to pursue this matter amounting to RM 5,000.00 is fully borned personally by SCT 3rd Term Committee without using any public donated contribution).

Norma Goh & Co then reported this to the Senior Assistant Registrar (Shah Alam Court) and on 24 September 2010, Norma Goh & Co informed us that T. J. Chin & Co will reply us within 2 weeks.

Political Announcement is still very far from our objective of a definite 'Black & White Out Of Court' Legal Solution

We learned from the press that the Selangor Government has officially announced that the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve Cemetery Project is aborted.

In this regards, since the Selangor Government put the 'Cart before the Horse' (announcing the news before the issue is actually resolved) , SCT will maintain a cautious 'look and see' attitude towards the subsequent developments following this announcement.

We hope that YB Elizabeth Wong, the Exco representing the Selangor Government, will work seriously and diligently with the respective state agencies to resolve the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve Cemetery Issue "once and for all" so that during "Case Mention regarding the Judicial Review of the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve Cemetery Project" in Shah Alam Court on 16 March 2010, the Selangor Government can inform of the Court of an 'Out Of Court Settlement' where Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve will be permanently gazetted as Forest Reserve and cannot be converted into a cemetery forever.

Dear Fellow Residents,

Since all if us have fought long and hard to resolve this teething issue, we should never be satisfied with mere political promises and let our guards down but should continue to fight relentlessly until we get a 'Black And White Out of Court' Legal Settlement where Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve will be permanently gazetted as Forest Reserve and cannot be converted into a cemetery forever.

SCT hopes that all residents will continue to stand with us as ONE and together, we will protect our beloved Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve until the Cemetery Issue is resolved "once and for all".

New location sought for cemetery

SELANGOR Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said the government is looking for alternative sites for the proposed cemetery at the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve.

The Selangor state government has agreed not to develop part of Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve into a cemetery.

“We have not decided on the site but it should be within a 40-minute drive from here.

“However, if we move it elsewhere, residents of the new location will object too,” he said.

Together with Kinrara assemblyman Teresa Kok, Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) president Datuk Adnan Md Ikshan and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Forestry Faculty dean Prof Dr Awang Noor Abd Ghani, Khalid visited the forest reserve and the proposed cemetery site after launching the World Habitat Day programme at IOI Mall, Bandar Puchong Jaya, on Saturday.

Since the proposed cemetery project was announced by the previous state government, residents of neighbouring housing estates such as Bandar Bukit Puchong, Taman Saujana Puchong, Gateway Puchong, Lestari Puchong and Mutiara Indah had collectively voiced strong objection.

They had been calling for the abortion of the project to save the forest reserve from being developed.

Teresa appealed to the residents to give the state more time to solve the problem.

“The Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve covered an area of 4,270ha in the past but it has been reduced to 1,248ha over the years. It is a great loss to Selangor folks as it takes centuries for the forest to grow,” she said.

Teresa added that the main objective of the programme was to make people realise the importance of maintaining this precious green lung.

Hence, the public was given the rare opportunity to go into the forest reserve during the event to appreciate its beauty.

To ensure a healthier environment, Khalid said the state would embark on several green projects, including cleaning up the Klang River, generating electricity through solar cells through a company in Science Park II and harvesting rainwater.

“In the next 15 years or so, 85% to 90% of the state will become developed cities. As such, 30% of the state land has been gazetted and cannot be developed in the next 50 years,” Khalid said.

He also said that the state would take over the elevator management of low-cost flats and repaint the buildings.

THE fate of the forest reserve near Saujana Puchong, whether it will be turned into a cemetery or not, will be known after the next State planning committee meeting on Oct 20, State Consumer Affairs and Environment Committee chairman Elizabeth Wong said.

She said the delay in the decision was due to insufficient time during the last State planning committee meeting held early this month.

“Due to insufficient time during that meeting, we were unable to address all items on the agenda. So, the matter will be discussed again at the coming meeting,” Wong said.

She also said in a statement that the panel members of the Public Hearing Committee were in favour of retaining the forest reserve. It was now a matter of formalising the decision at the State planning committee meeting before proceeding to regazette the forest reserve.

Since April 2004, residents living in the area have been opposing turning the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve into a cemetery.

They want to keep the forest reserve as a green lung and formed the Signature Campaign Teamwork with members comprising residents from Bandar Bukit Puchong, Gateway Puchong, Lestari Puchong, Mutiara Indah and Saujana Puchong.

Kubur: Penduduk tagih janji

PUCHONG 28 Sept. - Lima persatuan penduduk di sini mahu menyerahkan memorandum setelah tiga bulan menunggu janji kerajaan Selangor untuk menyelesaikan isu Tanah Perkuburan di Hutan Simpanan Ayer Hitam (HSAH).

Pengerusi Kumpulan Kempen Tandatangan (SCT) yang mewakili lima persatuan penduduk di situ, Lee Wai Hong menjelaskan, isu itu merupakan masalah besar yang masih belum menemui jalan penyelesaian sejak lima tahun dulu.

Tegasnya, sebelum ini kerajaan Selangor memaklumkan akan memberi jawapan selewat-lewatnya pada 22 September namun sehingga hari ini tiada sebarang maklum balas diterima.

"Kerajaan Selangor terus senyap dan ini membuktikan enggan mendengar tuntutan serta rayuan masyarakat di sini.

"Penduduk tempatan mempunyai kuasa untuk membantah apa-apa cadangan yang terkandung di dalam peta cadangan guna tanah Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya. Kami mahu isu ini diselesaikan segera," katanya.

Lima kawasan perumahan yang menyertai SCT ialah Bandar Bukit Puchong, Gateway Puchong, Lestari Puchong, Mutiara Puchong dan Saujana Puchong.

Tambah Wai Hong, pihaknya juga terkejut bahawa cadangan tanah perkuburan di Hutan Simpanan Ayer Hitam telah diperluaskan dari 51.5 ekar ke 147 ekar.

Ini menyamai tiga kali rancangan perkuburan asal yang dicadangkan sebelum ini.

Jelasnya, lebih kurang 90 peratus penduduk tempatan yang mewakili lebih daripada 1,500 kediaman telah menandatangan untuk membantah rancangan tersebut.

"Perancangan ini bukan sahaja menjatuhkan nilai harga rumah, maka ia akan membawa kesan negatif kepada penduduk dengan tapak perkuburan pelbagai kaum.

"Tapak kubur ini juga akan mengorbankan banyak kawasan hijau di HSAH yang seharusnya dikekalkan atau dibuat projek jalan yang lebih memberi manfaat kepada penduduk di sini," jelasnya.

Oleh itu, katanya, pihak berkuasa harus segera mengalihkan perancangan kubur itu ke suatu tempat yang jauh dari tempat kediaman tanpa mengorbankan alam semulajadi.

"Kita sudah terlalu kecewa dan tidak teragak-agak untuk berhimpun seandainya permintaan ini tidak didengar," ujarnya.

雪蘭莪‧蒲種）蒲種紹佳娜反對義山委員會，礙於此區亞依淡森林保留地興建綜合墓地計劃聽證會沒在承諾的3個月內回覆結果，因此將在本週內擬定備忘錄提呈雪州大臣及各行政議員，促請州政府透明化處理此事。

蒲種紹佳娜反對義山委員會第3屆主席李韋糠召開記者會指出，亞依淡森林保留地興建綜合墓地計劃聽證會在6月22日進行，委員會成員極力爭取參與聽證會。

當時出席聽證會的尚有雪州行政議員黃潔冰、劉天球及依斯干達沙末；儘管聽證會在匆匆15分鐘內結束，但掌管房屋、建筑物管理及非法木屋部的依斯干達沙末承諾，將在3個月內尋覓解決方案。

逾千戶受影響

“目前已過了期限，但我們卻仍沒收到聽證會任何回覆，因此委員會決定提呈備忘錄給雪州大呈及各雪州行政議員。”

理事劉成有聲稱，依斯干達沙末對他們承諾將在3個月內擬出解決方案，惟對外公佈時卻又宣稱問題將在明年初解決，因此他對這種說話不一的態度並不抱有信心及期待。

不過，他卻認為，一個負責的政府應兌現承諾，以讓居民能規劃未來家居環境發展計劃。

他提到，亞依淡森林保留地約150英畝，若在有關地段興建綜合墓地，將對紹佳娜花園、樂斯達麗花園、蒲種大道城、蒲種珍珠花園約上千戶造成影響。

居民憂房屋難脫售

“若在森林保留地興建綜合墓地，蒲種紹佳娜第10區花園距離墓地約20公尺，約相隔一條馬路；對樂斯達麗花園居民則僅相隔一條水溝而已。”

他說，部份居民房屋出現水喉問題，卻遲遲不敢進行維修，因為居民們都不知道家園未來的發展將會如何。

他補充，居民也困擾無法脫售房屋，此處屋價甚至下跌30%，原價20萬令吉的房屋，價格下降至14萬令吉也無人問津。

盼民聯解決5年糾結

委員會理事劉成有希望，目前的民聯州政府能拿出魄力透明化解決問題，正式在法理上解決此事。

他指出，此項問題已紛攘約5年，自前朝州政府時已發生，問題卻一直無法獲得解決，因此委員會希望當時與他們一起鬥爭的民聯州政府能儘快解決此課題。

他促請民聯州政府勿再敷衍居民及拖延時間，應馬上完成後續工作，還居民一個回覆。

该委员会星期日上午在蒲种绍佳娜举行记者会表示对州政府失望，因为于6月22日，州行政议员依斯干达沙末出席在梳邦再也市议会举行听证会时，曾承诺在3个月内定夺有关计划的命运，惟居民苦等超过3个月限期后，却没有听闻任何消息。

为此，委员会将会本星期内前往雪州政府大厦提呈备忘录，促请州政府设下一个限期，以便为兑现早前许下的承诺，给居民一个交代。

有关备忘录同时将移交给当日出席听证会的行政议员刘天球、黄洁冰及副本给雪州大臣丹斯里卡立及梳邦再也市议会。

（蒲種27日訊）紹嘉娜蒲種反對義山委員會下週提呈備忘錄，促雪州政府盡快擬定日期，並通過憲報公佈取消亞依淡森林保留區的綜合義山計劃！

該委員會聯同居民今日到蒲種紹嘉娜花園拉橫幅，抗議民聯政府議員們“換了位子就換了頭腦”，忘記了從前跟居民站在一起反對義山計劃的立場，不斷拖延時間且沒有下文，讓居民甚感失望。

據悉，該委員會的“鬥爭”今年已踏入第五個年頭，理事陣容也更換了三屆（每兩年一屆），可是依然無法看到義山計劃有任何改變，讓逾千戶直接受影響的單位居民大感不滿。

出席這次記者會者包括主席李韋糠、財政林豪傑、副秘書陳捷夫、理事劉成有、吳治江、孫國發、歐陽稼峰及王義賀。

李韋糠指出，雪州政府原本在今年6月22日舉行的閉門聽證會，答應委員會三個月后解決。如今3個月期限已過，雪州政府卻沒動靜。

他說，因此該會決定下週提呈備忘錄給雪州大臣和所有行政議員，也呈副本給梳邦再也市議會，希望催促當局給予明確交代，包括說出宣佈取消計劃的真正日期。

理事劉成有指出，他們在6月的聽證會上曾與州政府代表和行政議員們展開激烈辯論，行政議員依斯甘達更“安撫”他們，答應在3個月內解決問題。當時他們僅以一句“拭目以待”看待依斯甘達的言論。

他說，最近議員們在很多場合如盂蘭勝會等公開演說時，指州政府已正在物色新地點。

他指出，這讓人們聽起來好像已獲解決而漸漸不再追究，反觀州政府遲遲未通過憲報宣布取消計劃，這種做法似乎在欺騙人民。

“雖然我們事先開記者會公開備忘錄有點不禮貌，但我們對民聯沒信心了，只好通過媒體透明化處理，希望更多人看清事情的來龍去脈。”

住家義山距離僅20公尺

根據蒲種反對義山委員會說法，最靠近義山範圍的住家，距離僅20公尺的寬，等于只有一條馬路的距離！

委員會說，這些近距離的房屋，若按照市價來算，原本20萬令吉的價格已下降了30%。即使屋價跌到14萬令吉，恐怕都沒有人願意接手，讓業主難過。

委員會指出，目前最直接受到影響的住宅區包括紹嘉娜蒲種和蒲種樂斯達麗，涵蓋逾千個住家單位。其他的有蒲種山嶺鎮、珍珠花園和蒲種大道城。

目前，委員會希望雪州政府正式通過憲報宣布取消義山計劃，同時也恢復當地的森林保留地用途。

至于是否擔心政府在未來把森林保留地“又”改變成其他用途，該委員會則表示不願置評，只希望州政府兌現大選的承諾。

“民聯議員從前跟我們站在同一陣線，從前是朋友，難道換了位子，頭腦也跟著換了嗎？希望民聯實踐對我們的承諾，否則下屆大選再換人做政府。”

Selama lima tahun, penduduk Taman Saujana Puchong telah berkempen membantah rancangan Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ) untuk menjadi sebahagian daripada hutan simpan Ayer Hitam sebagai kawasan tanah perkuburan.

Ketika itu, penduduk terbabit mendapat sokongan daripada parti pembangkang DAP, PKR dan PAS.

Kini ketiga-tiga parti berkenaan merupakan sebahagian daripada kerajaan Pakatan Rakyat yang mentadbir negeri Selangor sejak setahun setengah yang lalu.

Sewaktu sesi dialog dengan pegawai kerajaan negeri pada 22 Jun lalu, penduduk dijanjikan oleh pengerusi jawatankuasa setinggan, pengurusan bangunan dan perumahan, Iskandar Abdul Samad bahawa penyelesaiannya akan dicapai dalam tempoh tiga bulan.

Dan kini, tempoh tiga bulan itu yang berakhir pada 22 September telah berlalu tanpa sebarang maklumat dari pihak berkuasa.

Sehubungan itu, jawatankuasa sementara membantah projek tanah berkuburan itu, menulis surat kepada Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim untuk mendapatkan penjelasan mengenainya.

"Mereka bersama kami sebelum menjadi kerajaan. Kami berharap mereka cepat membuat keputusan mengenai perkara itu. Kami mahu tinggal di sini dalam keadaan aman dan tidak perlu bimbang mengenai tanah perkuburan tersebut," kata jurucakapnya Lau Seng You (kiri).

Cadangan untuk membina tanah perkuburan awam seluas 55 hektar di situ, termasuk tempat membakar mayat - yang dianggap terbesar di negara ini - akan membabitkan sebahagian besar kawasan hutan simpan yang kini dimiliki Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (UPM) dan kini digunakan untuk tujuan penyelidikan.

Mahu diselesai di luar mahkamah

Menurut penduduk, hutan simpan seluas 3,000 hektar itu adalah antara segelintir kawasan hijau yang masih tinggal di negara ini. Ia juga menjadi tempatan tinggal masyarakat Orang Asli.

Kira-kira 1,500 penduduk di situ bimbang mengenai kejatuhan nilai hartanah serta pencemaran alam sekitar ekoran cadangan pembinaan tempat pembakaran di situ.

Wakil jawatankuasa sementara penduduk itu telah memfailkan semakan kehakiman pada 2006 tetapi kes berkenaan telah beberapa kali ditangguhkan.

Hari ini penduduk telah membawa pihak media ke pinggir kawasan hutan simpan tersebut untuk bergambar bersama kain rentang yang dibuat pada 2007, dengan kandungannya disarankan oleh Iskandar, yang juga seorang ahli politik PAS.

Lau berkata, walaupun perkara itu telah dibawa ke mahkamah dan tarikh untuk mendengarnya belum ditetapkan, tetapi pihaknya berharap ianya dapat diselesaikan di luar mahkamah. Berita asal

SUBANG JAYA: Residents living around the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve, in Puchong, will know in three months whether they will have a cemetery in their backyard.

State executive councillor Iskandar Abdul Samad told the residents at a public hearing on the Subang Jaya Local Draft Plan that a decision would be made by then on whether to gazette 22.2ha of the land in the forest reserve as a cemetery.

Residents living in Bandar Bukit Puchong, Gateway Puchong, Lestari Puchong, Mutiara Indah and Saujana Puchong objected to the plans to have a cemetery in the vicinity of their housing areas.

About 1,500 residents had submitted their objections against the plan to have the cemetery. The issue was first raised in 2004.

"We will inform the residents once the decision has been made. I think the cemetery issue needs to be discussed further at the state level," said Iskandar.

THE Selangor state government has promised to make a decision on the cemetery project at the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve in less than three months.

“This issue is beyond the state planning committee and will be discussed by the Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES).

“A special session will be held in July by the state executive councillors before we make a decision,” state housing, building management and squatters committee chairman Iskandar Abdul Samad said at the Subang Jaya Draft Local Plan hearing held at the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) complex yesterday.

A group of 20 residents, on behalf of the Signature Campaign Teamwork (SCT, which comprises representatives from Bandar Bukit Puchong, Taman Saujana Puchong, Gateway Puchong, Lestari Puchong and Mutiara Indah), submitted a memorandum to state tourism, consumer affairs and environment chairman Elizabeth Wong and MPSJ president Datuk Adnan Md Ikshan to reinstate their strong objection against the cemetery project.

“This cemetery, if built, will be located right next to our homes. We have been fighting for the abortion of this project since April 2004. We have asked the government to move the project to a place far away from residential areas.

“This is also to ensure that the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve remains as it is to preserve the environment,” SCT member Ng Chee Kwong said.

He added that the court case pertaining to this issue had been put on hold indefinitely for the Selangor government to make a decision.

Cemetery issue a hot topic at draft plan hearing

A PROPOSED cemetery at the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve in Puchong, Selangor, was one of the hot issues raised during the first public hearing for the draft local plan for Subang Jaya held at the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) complex yesterday.

According to state housing, building management and squatters committee chairman Iskandar Abdul Samad, who chaired the hearing, finding a suitable site for a new cemetery is a big headache because no one wants to have one within the vicinity of his or her neighbourhood.

“The proposal is for a 55-acre cemetery that will cater to all races and religions,” he said.

“We received a lot of objections against the cemetery.

“Those that were filed by individuals were heard today (yesterday), while those filed by a group of more than 1,500 individuals will be heard at the next hearing,” Iskandar said.

Iskandar said 2,139 objections focusing on 192 issues were submitted on the draft local plan.

The issues brought up during yesterday’s hearing included discrepancies in zoning and the duration allowed for the public to register their objections.

“Some individuals and companies raised the discrepancies as their land already had a commercial status or that their buildings had been in existence for a long time, but the plan stated that they were located in residential zones,” Iskandar said.

On the LRT extension project, he said it was mentioned but not discussed in detail as it was still awaiting the approval of the state government.

“Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd (SPNB) presented a briefing to the state executive council on the proposed route last month. They’re supposed to review our feedback and present the project in detail to the state executive council,” Iskandar said.

He said the state government expected potential problems on the LRT extension project, and that the related issues had to be looked into carefully as there were many things to be resolved.

State local government, studies and research committee chairman Ronnie Liu noted that among the pressing issues raised was the need for more secondary schools and land for places of worship for non-Muslims.

“We will look into the demands and see how we can resolve them,” he said.

Liu said the authorities would also look into the suggestion of having the draft local plans in electronic format or soft copies so that they could be accessed via the Internet.

Iskandar said the issues that were straightforward could be dealt with at the hearing, but the more complicated ones had to be referred to the state planning committee.

State tourism, consumer affairs and environment chairman Elizabeth Wong was also present at the hearing.

Yesterday’s hearing received a lukewarm response as only a handful of individuals and representatives of companies and associations turned up. The next hearing, scheduled for June 22, is expected to draw a bigger turnout from the residents’ groups.

Press Statement by Cheah Sang Soon while handing 1544 borang bantahan to MPSJ on objecting
the development of 147 acres of Ayer Hitam Reserve Forest to a cemetery.

RE: Membantah Cadangan Projek Perkuburan di Hutan Simpanan Ayer Hitam, Puchong

1) Saya ingin mengucapkan syabas and takniah kepada SCT yang berani untuk menjuangkan hak-hak penduduk-penduduk tempatan . Dalam masa seminggu yang singkat , mereka berjaya mengumpulkan sebanyak 1544 borang bantahan ( berdasarkan satu rumah satu borang) terhadap cadangan tapak perkuburan di Hutan Simpanan Ayer Hitam . Ini menunjukan majoriti penduduk-penduduk Puchong membantah cadangan project perkuburan tersebut.

2)Wakil rakyat Puchong menyatakan satu project perkhemahan yang bernilai lebih dari 10 juta ringgit akan dibina di hutan simpanan Ayer Hitam. Kami mendapati tapak perkhemahan sudah lama wujub di hutam simpanan Ayer Hitam . kini , mereka merancang untuk merobohkan tapak perkhemahan asal untuk rancangan tapak perkuburan . Bukankah ini sesuatu yang membazirkan wang rakyat ? dan adalah tidak munasabah dan tidak masuk akal membina satu tapak perkhemahan bersebelahan dengan tapak perkuburan. Ini akan menjadi satu lagi project “ white elephant” dari kerajaan.

3)Memang benar penduduk-penduduk di Puchong meningkat dan memerlukan tapak perkuburan yang baru. Rancangan tapak perkuburan merupakan satu aspek yang penting dalam perancangan bandar dan sepatutnya sudah diputuskan sebelum pembangunan satu bandar . Kami mencadangkan tapak perkuburan dipindahkan ke tempat luar bandar yang lebih sesuai . Ini akan lebih menguntungkan bukan sahaja penduduk-penduduk dari Puchong tetapi juga bandar-bandar berdekatan .

4)Kami , Parti Keadilan Rakyak menyokong sepenuhnya 3 tuntutan dari penduduk-penduduk , iaitu:
a)Rancangan tapak perkuburan tersebut dibatalkan dan dipindah ke tempat luar bandar yang lebih sesuai.

b)Mengekalkan hutam simpanan Ayer Hitam untuk memelihara alam semulajadi

c)Membina jalan alternative yang menghubungkan kelima-lima taman demi kemudahan penduduk-penduduk tempatan

5)Kami menyeru supaya pihak berkuasa mendengar kepada tuntutan dari rakyat jelata dan memenuhi permintaan mereka .

(蒲種14 日訊) 由人民公正黨雪州青年團副團長謝雙順率領多個反對黨﹐并連同5個花園簽名運動團體及蒲種居民﹐于14日早上十點三十分前往梳邦市議會呈交有關“反對亞依淡森林保留地開闢墳山計劃書” 表格予有關官員。

這項簽名運動自本月5日發佈後﹐獲得當地居民熱烈的響應﹐甚至很多購買當地屋業作為投資的人士﹐都紛紛來電表示支持反對這項開闢墳山計劃。SCT簽名團體在短短時間內總共收到1544份的反對表格。

同時﹐謝雙順也針對當地的人民代議士于日前發表將耗資千萬零吉在墳山旁﹐興建國際露營中心表示﹕其實﹐這個國際露營中心早在多年前已存在亞依淡森林保留地內﹐并曾在2004年配合國際森林節﹐也曾經主辦過世界露營日﹐吸引了世界各地的露營愛好者前來參與﹐現在要將這個國際露營中心剷除﹐開闢成墳地﹐又重新在墳地比鄰興建一座國際露營中心﹐這更本不符合經濟效益﹐並且勞財傷民。

謝氏指出﹐其實只需要將原有的露營中心的設備提升和美化﹐又何必要重新花更多錢去興建呢﹖而且要將露營中心與墳地為毗鄰﹐這似乎有點不恰當﹐畢竟一般人對墳地有所避忌。我們很擔心這一小撮人﹐在缺乏深謀遠慮下又讓國家多了一項白象計劃。

謝氏進一步指出﹐雖然在人口密度高的蒲種﹐生老病死的事件也相對提高﹐然而﹐這并不能表示凡是人口密度高的花園區都應該興建墳地﹐好讓當地居民百年歸老後﹐比較方便處理身後事。如果﹐興建更多學校﹐方便當地學子就學﹐或提升當地生活環境設備﹐還比較有建設性﹐但為了一年一度方便當地居民祭司活動﹐而不顧及整個社區的規劃﹐這似乎有點矯枉過正了。

其實﹐目前在城市發展中﹐人口迅速暴漲是無法避免的現象﹐因此墓園的規劃更為重要。所以﹐當局應該將墳地遷移在市郊未發展的地方﹐方便更多城市的居民使用﹐而不應該只局限在某個區的花園居民而已。

我們感到非常遺憾的是﹐當地的代議士表示只願意和舊的工委會對話﹐無論是舊或新的工委會﹐都是出自蒲種區人民的聲音﹐更何況從頭到尾都只有一個工委會﹐此種不成熟的作風有對人不對事之嫌﹐我們絕對不容許這種不民主的工作方式﹐罔顧不同聲音的訴求﹐同樣是蒲種居民﹐又怎能厚此薄比呢﹖又怎能因為他們的意見和有些人不一樣而說這些人被有心人利用呢﹖

謝雙順重申﹕人民公正黨全力支持由當地居民所提出的三大訴求﹕
1) 取消開闢發展墳地計劃﹐并將有關計劃遷移到適當的郊區。
2) 保留森林綠肺﹐避免破壞大自然環境﹐而引起不必要的人為災
難如﹕土崩﹐水災等等。
3) 開闢連接五個花園公路﹐方便當地居民出入。

最後﹐我們呼籲更多當地居民關注這項開闢墳山發展計劃﹐同時也籲請當局能正視當地居民的訴求﹐聽取民意。

a) Kami merasa cukup terkejut bahawa cadangan rancangan tanah perkuburan di hutan simpanan Ayer Hitam telah diperluaskan dari 51.5 ekar ke 147 ekar. Ini menyamai 3 kali rancangan perkuburan asal yang dicadangkan sebelum ini

b) Sebenarnya, penduduk tempatan telah menuntut untuk menghentikan rancangan perkuburan tersebut sejak tahun 2005, dan lebih kurang 90% penduduk tempatan telah menandatangan untuk membantah rancangan tersebut.

c) Dengan cadangan terkini untuk memperluaskan tanah perkuburan tersebut, menunjukkan kerajaan sombong dan enggan mendengar tuntutan dan rayuan rakyat jelata.

d) Kami juga berasa kecewa kerana wakil rakyat tidak menjalankan tugas mereka untuk memberitahu penduduk tentang cadangan yang terkini. Sebenarnya, penduduk tempatan mempunyai kuasa untuk membantah apa-apa cadangan yang terkandung di dalam peta cadangan gunatanah MPSJ. Mereka boleh mengisi boring bantahan dari MPSJ dan menyerahkan boring sebelum 28/1/2008.

e) Kami ingin menyeru supaya penduduk-penduduk tempatan menyertai program bantahan ini sebelum terlambat. Borang-borang boleh didapati dari wakil-wakil SCT dan perlu diserahkan kepada wakil-wakil SCT sebelum 13/1/2008. Parti Keadilan Rakyat akan bersama-sama dengan SCT menyerahkan borang bantahan kepada MPSJ pada 14/1/2008 10.30 am. Semua penduduk dijemput bersama-sama untuk menyerahkan borang bantahan pada hari tersebut.

(雪州5日訊) 針對蒲種區亞依淡森林保護區辟墳山計劃﹐雪州公正黨青年團副團長謝雙順﹐連同蒲種區5個花園區簽名活動團體代表召開記者召代會指出﹕雪州政府於去年11月29日通過梳邦市議會﹐公佈有關蒲種區發展大藍圖﹐然而﹐我們感到很驚訝的是﹐整個墳山的計劃﹐已從原有的51.5依格擴大到 147格﹐將近原有面積的3倍﹐幾乎等于半個紹佳娜花園的面積。

從墳山擴大面積顯示﹐受影響的居民將會更多﹐更重要的是﹐雖然2005年反義山工委會成立後﹐通過各種管道積極爭取廢除有關義山計劃﹐並在同年10月8日發動簽名反對運動﹐集合了將近90%居民的簽名﹐提呈給州務大臣及市議會﹐但是﹐這些居民的心聲和抗議并沒有受到重視﹐反而變本加利的將墳山面積擴大﹐完全罔視民意﹐顯露了雪州政府和市議會的傲慢。

我們感到非常的遺憾﹐蒲種區的人民代議士并沒有執行他們的任務﹐將這項墳山擴大計劃如實的公告當地局民﹐以便他們有機會提出反對。反而在最近該區的國會議員還反表文告指出﹐已成功爭取把墳地與週圍環境的美化緩沖的距離﹐把原定的20尺擴大至30尺﹐完全沒有提起大藍圖裡墳地被擴大的事實﹐我們想問的是﹕為什麼并沒有將真相告知當地居民﹖是不是他自己無暇閱讀整個發展大藍圖﹐所以不知道真相﹐還是有意隱瞞事實﹖

我們要提醒所有的居民﹐此項發展大藍圖乃是合法的法律文件﹐同時﹐身為當地的居民是有權力參與和反對任何不利他們的計劃﹐因此﹐若有任何不滿﹐可以在限定的日期內(截止日期28/1/08)﹐向市議會索取反對表恪﹐正式提出反對﹐要不然一旦在州議會通過﹐整個計劃就已成定局了﹐一切將為時已晚。但是﹐至今當地代議士并沒有將這個嚴重性告訴居民﹐沒有履行他的責任﹐還企圖左右而言他的將事實真相和嚴重性隱瞞。

在此﹐我們呼籲所有當地的居民在本月8日之前﹐可以通過SCT(5個花園簽名活動團體) 索取反對表格﹐并於本月13日前交給有關負責人﹐SCT將會把有所有關收集的反對表﹐一起呈上給市議會表達民意。同時﹐人民公正黨雪州青年團副團長謝雙順連同簽名委員會﹐也將於1月14日早上10點率領當地居民﹐將有關表格呈交市議會。

Jiran-jiran sekalian,

Menurut Draf rancangan MPSJ 2008-2020, tanah perkuburan di Hutan Simpanan Ayer Hitam (HSAH) akan diperluaskan kepada lebih kurang 150 ekar menghapuskan hutan simpanan dari SP 9 hingga hujung SP 10 dan LEP 7. Ini bermakna tanah perkuburan HSAH adalah 50% saiz Saujana Puchong dan 70% saiz Lestari Puchong.

Tarikh Akhir untuk bantahan kepada MPSJ adalah 28 Jan 2008.

Disebabkan Tanah Perkuburan Mega ini, SCT akan mengadakan program berikut:

1. Wakil SCT dari setiap taman akan memberi borang kepada penduduk untuk membantah
draf rancangan MPSJ berkenaan tanah perkuburan ini.

2. Mulai dari 7 Jan 2008 (7 - 13 Jan 2008), SCT akan mengadakan satu secretariat yang akan berada di Restoran AS-Subuh dari pukul 10 pm hingga 11.30 pm untuk menjawab segala pertanyaan penduduk.

3. Pada 14 Jan 2008, pukul 10 pagi, SCT berharap semua jiran-jiran akan bersama-sama di

Pada 26 Dec 2007, calon KEADILAN untuk kawasan Puchong pada pilihanraya akan datang, Encik Cheah Sang Soon menjawab kenyataan akhbar YB Puchong, Encik Lau Yeng Peng berkenaan tentang protes SCT di Pejabat YB Puchong pada 16 Dec 2007.

（蒲种26日讯）雪州公正党青年团副团长谢双顺，针对蒲种区国会议员卢永平於17日发表文告指责反对党利用大选的时刻，政治化反对亚依谈兴建坟地事件，以从中捞取政治资本指出：作为马来西亚合法的政党，应有权利和义务为普罗大从争取他们的权益；而人民不应该因为和反方对党站在同一阵线，而被冠上被反对党利用之嫌。这唯免太低估人民的智慧和判断能力了。
谢双顺表示：虽然，卢氏一再强调亚依谈坟地发展计划非属国会批准范围，早在2003年前，已批准通过此项计划，然而，蒲种的屋业发展计划里，一直没有将这项批准划入蓝图里，让有意购买蒲种屋业的居民预先知道这项发展，这对于当地的居民是绝对不公平的。
而身为一个负责任的国会议员，不应该推唐这一切事情的发生是在他当选之前的事，更重要的是，卢氏在2006年5月13日出席居民聚会时，公开表态愿意与居民站在同一阵线，协助居民解决义山问题，最后却表示成功争取把坟地与周围环境的美化缓冲的距离，从原有的20尺扩至30尺，但这并不是居民最终的意愿。
谢氏进一步指出，虽然卢氏表示将会选择以大多数人民的意愿为依归，但是却不能不理会受影响的五个住宅区居民的感受。况且，兴建坟地是不是一定要在这片蒲种仅存的森林，还是可以另寻他处呢？除非情非得意，别无选择，要不然雪州仍有许多地方可供发展坟地，何必将事情演变成死人和活人争地呢？
再说，将心比心，又有谁愿意自己的住家和坟场为邻？除了要蒙受屋价的下跌外，凡是祭祖之日还要蒙受交通诸塞之苦，这不是一句：以大多数人民的利益为依归堂皇的话，所能弥补当地居民的精神伤害之苦。

Penyerahan Memorandum Kepada YB Puchong untuk MENGOTAKAN JANJINYA

Sebagaimana yang diketahui, pihak SCT tidak diberikan permit untuk protes 16 Dec 2007 tetapi diberi kebenaran lisan oleh pihak polis untuk menghantar memorandum kepada Ahli Parlimen Puchong, YB Lau Yeng Peng.

Demi menjaga keselamatan penduduk-penduduk, pihak SCT bersama wakil polis menunggu di Giant, Bandar Puteri Puchong untuk memberitahu penduduk-penduduk serta penyokong-penyokong bahawa protes sudah dibatalkan.

Disebabkan, ramai penduduk dan penyokong yang sudi datang pada hari itu, pihak SCT mengucapkan terima kasih kepada mereka atas kepercayaang mereka yang padu kepada SCT.

Selain itu, pihak SCT bersyukur kerana dengan bantuan mesra dari pihak polis, semua penduduk dan penyokong yang sudi datang dapat balik dengan selamat.

Kepada jiran-jiran yang disayangi,

SCT diberitahu bahawa Permohonan Permit untuk Protest di Pejabat YB Puchong, Encik Lau Yeng Peng pada hari Ahad (16 Dec 2007) ini tidak diluluskan oleh pihak polis.

Kami diberitahu tentang keputusan ini pada malam hari Jumaat, 14 Dec 2007.

Memandangkan cara pengendalian “suasana demontrasi” yang semakin tegas, pihak SCT membuat keputusan untuk membatalkan Protest pada Hari Ahad ini demi keselamatan jiran-jiran sekalian.

Walau bagaimanapun, pada malam Hari Jumaat yang sama, pihak SCT telah berbincang dengan Polis Cawangan Khas, IPD Seri Kembangan untuk mencari cara penyelesaian yang adil kepada kedua-dua pihak serta menjamin keselamatan jiran-jiran yang hadir.

Dalam perbincangan ini, Pihak Polis Cawangan Khas, IPD Seri Kembangan bersetuju secara verbal untuk:

i. memberi wakil SCT menghantar memorandum kepada YB Puchong, Encik Lau Yeng Peng

ii. memberi Ahli Jawatan Kuasa (AJK) SCT berkumpul di Giant dengan Polis Cawangan Khas untuk bersama-sama memberitahu jiran-jiran yang tiba bahawa Protest telah Dibatalkan.

iii. Memberi wakil SCT mengadakan SIDANG AKHBAR di Restoran Mamak bersebelahan dengan Pejabat YB Puchong.

Why is the MP of Puchong AVOIDING SCT?

Just after the 2004 election, SCT started to send letters to Puchong MP to inform him of the Ayer Hitam Reserved Forest Cemetery Issue with high hope that he will be able to help us resolve the issue.

After numerous letter correspondences, he finally agreed to meet us on 25 Feb 2006 night at one of the residence home under some extremely unreasonable and ridiculous conditions.

His conditions for the visit were:

1. He will visit us as a ‘rakyat’ and not in his capacity as the MP of Puchong.
2. We cannot inform any opposition on his visit
3. We cannot invite the media to cover his visit
4. He will not be discussing on the cemetery issue.
5. He will not promise us on anything during the visit

Due to our anxiousness and belief in his sincerity to resolve the cemetery issue, we reluctantly accepted his visit hoping that something good will come out of it.

He came quietly, he chatted with us and he went off with his last words “I will try my best”.

Looking back, slowly and surely, we begin to understand his unwritten message.

In fact, we could safely say that he did not want to meet us in the first place. If not, what were the reasons for the stiff conditions?

He has never really wanted to help us. If not, why didn’t he want to meet us up?

Then, why did he come finally? We think he had no choice because SCT was naïve enough to accept his ridiculous conditions.

Then again, on May 13, 2006, which fell on “Mother’s Day”, SCT again invited Puchong MP for a ‘MEET THE RESIDENTS’ session.

Saujana Puchong residents were very excited and fielded our dear MP with numerous questions.

When residents asked him about day-to-day issues regarding electricity, water, grass cutting, rubbish, etc, the MP explained happily in full details with outstanding descriptions.

However, when residents started to question on the cemetery issue, the residents saw a 180 degree turn. He began to avoid the issue by giving unreasonable reasons.
Because of our earlier experience with him, we grew a bit smarter and started to press for solid answers and did not allow him to beat around the bush.

Finally, after much pressure from the residents, he gave in and pledged that he will fully support us to resolve the cemetery issue all the way to the end.

Obviously, feeling proud of our good day work, we thanked the MP for his full support and going home feeling gung-ho that the issue will be resolved.

The story ended with us waiting more than a year without any news from him until June 2007 when we finally realized that we have been taken for a ride again.

This time, armed with even more bad experience and again thinking that we are smart people, we ask to see him to follow up on the progress.

Do you want know what he told us this time?

He told us that he has helped us resolved electricity, grass, mosquitoes, water problems, therefore he has helped us resolved all our issues!!!

Since that day, we never get a chance to see him again.

All these events lead us to ask ourselves, the residents of Saujana Puchong a few questions?

自01/04/04至今,我们都不断为此斗争坚持到底. 绿肺是优质环境的元素, 通道是邻近花园往来的基建, 我们仅存一段的森林, 已被市政府列为多元种族墓地. 最终这片绿荫的森林被牺牲了, 这条公路也被截断了, 本区域产业应声降值了.

MALAPETAKA "KUBUR" PENDUDUK SEKITAR HUTAN SIMPANAN AYER HITAM

Sehingga kini, penduduk-penduduk di Taman-taman perumahan di sekeliling Hutan Simpanan Ayer Hitam (HSAH) amat bertuah dan berbangga kerana dapat menikmati alam semulajadi yang begitu indah dan udara nyaman yang bersepoi-sepoi, hasil dari hutan rimba yang diperlihara dengan sempurna.

Di samping itu, HSAH, juga merupakan salah satu hutan yang tertua di dunia dengan kepelbagaian fauna dan flora yang tiada tolok bandingannya.

Malangnya, satu peristiwa gelap bakal menimpa HSAH dan penduduk-penduduk di sekitarnya.

MPSJ akan mengorbankan 50 ekar HSAH untuk membina sebuah tapak perkuburan pelbagai kaum yang dilengkapi dengan RUMAH BAKAR MAYAT.

Lebih-lebih lagi, JALAN PENYAMBUNG TANPA TOL dari Puchong (melalui Saujana Puchong) ke Seri Kembangan (melalui Lestari Puchong) yang sepatutnya dibina mengikut perancangan awal juga telah dikorbankan disebabkan pembinaan tapak perkuburan ini.

Selain itu, tapak perkuburan ini akan membawa pelbagai malapetaka ekonomi, sosial dan mental kepada penduduk-penduduk sekitar.

Malapetaka #1
Harga rumah penduduk sekitar, akan menurun secara mendadak, menghapuskan wang hasil titik peluh mereka. Secara keseluruhan, beratus-ratus juta wang penduduk akan dikorbankan begitu sahaja.

Malapetaka #2
Angin nyaman bersepoi-sepoi yang begitu dihayati penduduk sekitar akan digantikan dengan angin ngeri dan berhabuk yang bukan sahaja menyeramkan hati tetapi juga menjejaskan kesihatan penduduk.

Malapetaka #3
Kedai-kedai keranda dan kedai-kedai lain yang membekalkan pelbagai barang-barang keperluan pengebumian akan mengambil-alih kedai-kedai keperluan penduduk yang ada sekarang. Lama-kelamaan, Taman Perumahan kita akan bertukar ke Taman Perkuburan.

Setiap hari, penduduk-penduduk akan dibebankan dengan ‘Trafik Jam’ Kereta Keranda.

Untuk melindungi HSAH dan kepentingan penduduk-penduduk sekitar, pihak SCT telah mengambil tindakan perundangan terhadap MPSJ dan Kerajaan Selangor.
Malangnya, sehingga hari ini, perbicaraan belum bermula dan masih ditangguhkan oleh pihak MPSJ. Disebabkan ini, MPSJ mempunyai hak untuk memulakan kerja pada bila-bila masa!

Penduduk-penduduk di sekitar HSAH memahami bahawa Tapak Perkuburan adalah satu keperluan rakyat.

Tentang aspek in, apa yang penduduk mahukan adalah:

a. HSAH dan hak penduduk tidak dikorbankan dengan sewenang-wenangnya.

b. Perlaksanaan projek kerajaan adalah telus, adil dan saksama.

Untuk memenuhi kedua-dua syarat ini, beberapa perkara patut disoal:

a. Mengapa Tapak Perkuburan ini tidak dibina di tempat yang tidak mengorbankan hutan dan
penduduk? Betulkah di Negeri Selangor tiada lagi tanah yang bersesuaian?

b. Mengapa Tapak Perkuburan, yang merupakan perancangan jangka panjang, tidak dirancang dan diberitahu kepada penduduk sekitar semasa kita membeli rumah di sini? Semasa kita membeli rumah, yang diberitahu adalah hutan simpanan adalah bersebelahan rumah kita! Patutkah kesilapan dalam perancangan kerajaan DITANGGUNG SEPENUHNYA oleh
RAKYAT?

c. Mengapa 50 ekar HSAH dikorbankan? Adakah ini disebabkan tanah tidak melebihi 50 ekar
tidak memerlukan laporan EIA (Environment Impact Analysis)? Bolehkah kawasan HSAH
yang lain dikorbankan dengan cara yang sama pada masa akan dating?

d. Mengapa hanya 2 penduduk mendapat surat tentang hal ini manakala penduduk yang
dibebankan melebihi 4000 rumah tangga?

e. Mengapa kerja-kerja pengukuran tanah dijalankan pada hujung minggu? Adakah ini kerana
mahkamah tidak dibuka pada hujung minggu?

f. Dan soalan yang paling penting, adakah pengorbanan penduduk sekitar berbaloi? Adakah
pengorbanan satu-satunya hutan simpanan yang tertua di dunia ini berbaloi? Untuk
sesuatu perkara yang boleh diselesaikan dengan cara yang lebih bijak.

Dengan segala hormatnya, pihak SCT menjemput penduduk-penduduk sekitar untuk menyertai aktiviti-aktiviti SCT dan memberi sokongan padu kepada kami supaya kita boleh bersatu-padu melindungi warisan HSAH, harta benda satu sama lain dan yang paling penting SUARA KITA dapat DIDENGAR dan DIHORMATI oleh PIHAK BERKUASA.

Thanks to the 200 residents of Lestari Puchong, Saujana Puchong, Mutiara Indah, Bandar Bukit Puchong who attended the protest and walked up the hill to see how near the cemetery is to their residential area that replaces the non-toll connecting road from Puchong To Seri Kembangan.

Thanks to DAP, Keadilan, NGOs, PAS, Press that cover the event and also the policemen who has helped tremendously to make the protest a calm and peaceful one.

Our beloved Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Badawi has sent a reply to us regarding the Official Survey on converting Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve to a cemetery that we sent to every ADUN in Selangor. (Please view previous blog dated Friday, June 22, 2007).

We would like to thank you to our PM for acknowledging SCT's struggle and directed our issue to the most relevant person in charge, Selangor Menteri Besar, Dato' Seri Mohd Khir Toyo.

This shows that the PM sincerely cares about us, the rakyat, the use of of forest and other green lungs (what more the reserved forest!) and the preservation of biodiversity.

We believe that the Selangor MB as well as Puchong MP, YB Lau Yeng Peng will share the same virtues, concerns and accountability like our PM and work hand in hand with us to resolve the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve issue promptly and responsibly.

No Selangor BN ADUNS reply our Official Survey on the ISSUE of converting Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve to cemetery

SCT has sent out an official survey to 54 ADUNs in Selangor and 14 other government agencies and NGOs on the 11/3/2007 through registered post asking the following questions and requested them to return the survey before 23/4/2007:

1. Selama ini, tahukah tuan tentang isu yang dihadapi oleh penduduk di sini?
a. Tahu b. Tidak Tahu

2. Pada pendapat tuan, patutkah penduduk membantah perancangan MPSJ yang mengorbankan HSAH (Hutan Simpanan Kekal Ayer Hitam)?
a. Patut b. Tidak Patut c. Tidak ada komen

3. Adakah tuan sendiri menyokong tindakan penduduk ini?
a. Sokong b. Tidak Sokong c. Tidak ada komen

4. Saya sokong/tidak sokong penduduk membantah perancangan demi melindung HSAH atas sebab .......................................................................................

5. Jika tuan sokong, apakah langkah yang patut dilakukan oleh penduduk supaya dapat menambahkan keyakinan dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan ini?

Out of 54 Selangor ADUNs, only 2 sent back the survey to us.

They are:
ADUN Sekinchan, Tuan Ng Suee Lim (DAP)
ADUN Sungai Pinang , Tuan Teng Chang Khim (DAP)

Both ADUNs supported our actions.

However, the 49 other ADUNs don't reply at all and 1 ADUN, Gombak Setia, Tn Yuszahari Bin Md Yusof don't even want to receive the survey even though we sent to his place twice by registered post after calling him to confirm he is there!

Of the 49 ADUNs, we think we can forgive ADUN Ijok, Datuk Sivalingam for being dead but we definitely feel that the other 48 do not want to listen to the rakyat despite repeated calls from the Prime Minister for them to serve and work with the rakyat.

Reserve Forest can be LEGALLY converted to Cemetery without EIA report

SCT has received a formal reply from Jabatan Alam Sekitar (Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar) that the Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve can be legally converted into a cemetery without the need for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) because it is a land matter.

Since we are celebrating World Environment Day on 17 June 2007, we feel that this is totally ridiculous because if forest reserves can be destroyed so easily, imagine what will happen to other non-reserve forests and parks.

Because of this, SCT will be meeting with MNS and WWF to clarify this issue.

We, Malaysians are so sad that now Green Every Day has just turn RED.

SAUJANA Puchong residents are getting more frustrated by the day as their campaign to stop a neighbouring forest reserve from being turned into a cemetery seems to be falling on deaf ears.

MPSJ Disrespects Court Order And Starts work on the cemetery

On Saturday, 5 May 2007, one resident in Saujana Puchong saw a few workers doing some boundary measurements at the cemetery site. The witty lady immediately asked the workers what they are doing and requested for the authorization letter. To her surprise, it is a letter by MPSJ authorizing MRI Consultancy to do the boundary survey for the cemetery.

She immediately photocopied the letter and contacted SCT Secretary, Mr. Yew Mun Kong.

Mr. Yew immediately instructed our lawyer Mr. T. J. Chin to file a complain to the Shah Alam Court on the next Monday.

Mr. Yew alerted the SCT committee about this and we immediately swung into full alert because many of our members who are contractors tell us that once they have the boundary marking, they can send their bulldozers to clear the land very fast.

On 6 May 2007, a beautiful Sunday, at about 10 am, Mr. Soon came and knocked on my door and informed me that the surveyors are here again.

Both of us immediately went to the site and took photos with the workers and their activities as evidence. We also took their contact number in case we need their help to testify.

As you can see in the picture, our good neighbour, Koh immediately join us when he saw what happened.

Since it is the last day of the survey and we need to catch MPSJ red-handed before they deny it or give some lame excuses, Mr. Koh suggested that we immediately call Mr. Yew to contact the press and set a time in the afternoon for a protest.

Mr. Yew then informed us that China Press, Nanyang, Sin Chew, Kong Ming as well as The Star are coming at 3 pm, the same day and we need a strong turnout during the protest to show MPSJ that the residents are very dissappointed with such unlawful behaviour.

Because of the lack of time, we are able to gather about 50 residents for the protest.

As a summary, we would like to inform the residents that although we have already got a no-work order from the court, the local government does not follow the law and even with a no-work order, we are not protected.

They are so despicable that they won't be ashame or hesitate to bully us using taxpayer money.

To safeguard our own interest, we, the residents of Saujana Puchong (or generally Malaysians) must be united closely as we in SCT has learned again and again that to protect ourselves, we must present a strong and united front as the authority is practising Law of the Jungle.

Next article we will be informing all our neighbours the happenings during the protest.

Signature Campaign Teamwork (SCT) Saujana Puchong has done so much to ensure that the cemetery in Saujana Puchong is moved to a more suitable place and not inside a residential area.

However, so little is published in the English and Bahasa media on our activities. Thus, many residents in Saujana Puchong (especially those who contributed RM300.00 for our legal fund) do not know the amount of efforts that we have put in and think that we are non-functional.
(We would like to thank the Chinese media for the support and bravery in publishing our cause thus far).

To add salt to the wound, local politicians have publicly and irresponsibly inform the public that our legal actions have failed although it is still very much alive.

Furthermore, I dare say, if not for the legal suit, we would already have a cemetery next to us and the beautiful forest in Saujana Puchong would have to make way just like what happened in Kota Damansara currently.
